Privacy Policy

Rishta IQ (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a pre-marriage compatibility service for couples and families in India. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”) and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

• Account details: name, email address, password (hashed), and authentication tokens.
• Profile information: date of birth, gender, religion, caste, mother tongue, height, education, profession, income range, family details, lifestyle preferences, photos, partner preferences, and any free-text fields you choose to fill.
• Optional birth chart inputs: birth time, birth place, and pincode (only if you choose to use the kundli match feature).
• Activity: profiles you browse, interests sent and received, messages with matched users, assessment answers, and compatibility reports.
• Device & technical data: IP address, browser/device type, log data, and cookies for session management.

• To create and operate your account.
• To match you with compatible partners using the data you provide.
• To run the compatibility assessment, generate reports, and surface insights.
• To enable communication once a match is mutual.
• To send transactional and service-related emails (account, security, matches you opted in to).
• To keep the platform safe (detecting fraud, abuse, fake profiles, and reported users).
• To comply with legal obligations under Indian law.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with marketing or advertising networks.

Your profile is visible to other signed-in Rishta IQ members. Sensitive contact details (phone, email, Instagram) are masked by default and only unlocked when you and another member have a mutual accepted interest and you have explicitly toggled the corresponding “show” preference in your settings.

Photos are stored in a private bucket and served only via short-lived signed links to authenticated members.

We retain your account and profile for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account from Settings → Delete account, we permanently erase your profile, photos, chats, interests, assessment data, and compatibility reports. Anonymised, aggregated statistics may be retained for product analytics.

• Right to withdraw consent — toggle visibility / notification preferences in Settings.
• Right to grievance redressal — write to our Grievance Officer (see Section 10).

We use industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. Access to production data is restricted to a minimal set of authorised personnel. Despite best efforts, no online service is 100% secure — please use a strong, unique password.

Rishta IQ is for adults of legal marriageable age in India. You must be at least 18 (women) or 21 (men) to use this service. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

We use first-party cookies and local storage only for session management (keeping you signed in) and language preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
